Clay Co., MO – Five Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Near US 69

Clay County, MO (November 23, 2025) – Five people suffered injuries on Friday, November 21, after a violent two-vehicle crash near U.S. Highway 69 in Clay County.

The crash happened around 5:20 p.m. when a Chevrolet Silverado slammed into the back of a 2023 Ford Explorer. The impact crushed the SUV’s rear and pushed it forward, leaving the family inside in pain and shock.

A thirty-one-year-old woman from Lawson drove the Explorer with four family members inside. She and a nine-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and needed urgent medical attention. Another nine-year-old girl suffered moderate injuries, while a five-year-old girl and a thirty-one-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

Emergency crews treated everyone at the scene before taking four victims to nearby hospitals for additional care. The man with minor injuries stayed at the scene for treatment. The seventeen-year-old driver of the Silverado, also from Lawson, did not suffer any injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol worked with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department and the Lawson Police Department during the rescue and investigation. Officials continue to examine the circumstances of the crash.
