Clay Co., MO (March 7, 2025) – Emergency crews were dispatched to the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 just north of Chouteau following a two-vehicle crash at approximately 12:25 p.m. on March 7.
According to reports, a 2008 Mercedes-Benz, driven by a 39-year-old woman from Excelsior Springs, crossed the centerline while traveling in the right lane. The vehicle then collided with a 2024 Ford Transit van that was traveling in the left lane. The impact left both vehicles with damage, requiring them to be towed from the scene.
At least eight people sustained minor injuries in the crash. A 27-year-old male occupant of the Ford Transit was transported to North Kansas City Hospital by private vehicle. The other injured individuals, including the driver of the Mercedes-Benz, opted to seek their own medical treatment. The injured victims ranged in age from 27 to 54 and were all from the Kansas City area. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
