Crashes like this one are reminders of how lives can be impacted in an instant. Let’s take a closer look at some common injuries people experience after a wreck:

  • Whiplash and Neck Injuries: These are some of the most common outcomes after a rear-end or side-impact collision. They may not always show symptoms right away but can lead to long-term pain or limited mobility if left untreated.
  • Broken Bones: The force of a crash often results in fractures. Whether it’s a wrist braced against the dashboard or a leg trapped during impact, broken bones often require surgery and lengthy recovery.
  • Internal Injuries: Damage to organs or internal bleeding may not be immediately obvious at the scene. Quick medical evaluation is vital, as internal trauma can become life-threatening without intervention.
  • Concussions and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs): Any blow to the head during a crash could result in a concussion or more serious TBI. These injuries can affect memory, coordination, and even mood long after the accident.
  • Emotional and Psychological Trauma: Mental health issues like PTSD, anxiety, or depression may follow a crash—especially if the event was particularly frightening or painful. These conditions deserve just as much attention as physical injuries.
