Leeton, MO (July 16, 2026) – A serious Leeton car accident resulted in injuries Tuesday evening after two vehicles collided at a rural highway intersection. The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. on July 14 at the intersection of 13 Hwy and JJ Hwy, involving a 2015 Toyota Corolla and a 2021 Jeep Gladiator.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both drivers involved in the crash were adult women. The driver of the Toyota Corolla, a 49-year-old woman from Knob Noster, MO, sustained moderate injuries. She was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for further treatment. The driver of the Jeep Gladiator, a 51-year-old woman from Independence, MO, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Investigators determined that the crash occurred when the Jeep Gladiator entered the intersection, leading the Toyota Corolla to strike it. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene by local towing services.
Emergency personnel responded quickly to assist those involved and to secure the intersection. Traffic in the area was temporarily affected while crews worked to clear the wreckage and assess the situation.
