From a state standpoint, Missouri reported 3,262 incidents of sexual assault in 2021, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Holding Sexual Predators Accountable
Sexual predators often target society’s most vulnerable—underage teenagers, young children the elderly, and the disabled. Our Missouri sexual abuse lawyers are dedicated to holding predators accountable through the representation of sexual abuse victims. If you or a loved one has experienced sexual violence, Wallentine Injury Law is here to help.
Holding Institutions Accountable
In addition to holding sexual predators accountable, our sexual abuse lawyers also hold the institution responsible. Sexual violence can occur anywhere; however, when an individual is victimized by sexual assault within the confines of a trusted institution, it is even more egregious. Sexual abuse that takes place in established places such as schools, daycares, churches, nursing homes, or on a sports team catches individuals completely off guard. These vulnerable individuals must be protected and supported in case of tragedy. Wallentine Injury Law is committed to representing victims and seeking the justice they deserve.
Seeking Justice: Civil Lawsuits for Sexual Abuse
Are you ready to take the next step in the healing process after sexual violence? Pursuing a civil lawsuit can aid in this journey as well as push society into recognizing the seriousness of sexual abuse. While criminal charges focus on punishing the perpetrator, the civil sexual assault lawsuit is designed to further recognize the situation and provide financial compensation for the survivor.
Financial Compensation and Money Damages for Survivors
A successful civil lawsuit can provide money to help deal with the injuries. These can be through either settlement or a jury award for:
- Pain and suffering – Recognizing the emotional and psychological trauma endured.
- Therapy and medical expenses – Covering the cost of necessary treatments and support.
- Lost income (current and future) – Addressing the work loss financial impact of the abuse.
- Punitive damages – Holding perpetrators and institutions accountable for their actions.
While no amount of money can undo the trauma of sexual violence, financial compensation is an important step toward validation, healing, and recovery.
