Saline County, MO (December 3, 2025) – A serious crash between two semi-trucks left a Kansas City driver badly hurt in Saline County late Monday morning, December 1. The collision happened on Interstate 70 near Marshall during heavy traffic. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says one semi-truck slowed because of congestion on the highway. A second semi-truck, driven by a 71-year-old man from Kansas City, approached from behind and struck the rear of the slower truck.
The impact pushed both trucks out of their lanes. Investigators say the force sent the vehicles off the roadway and into the median. Emergency crews arrived to help the drivers and secure the crash scene. Paramedics took the Kansas City man to University Hospital with serious injuries. The second driver, a 68-year-old man from Wilcown, Virginia, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and received care at the scene.
Officials have not released more details about what caused the rear-end collision beyond traffic buildup.
