Saline Co., MO – Rear-End Collision on I-70 Leaves One Injured

Saline County, MO (December 26, 2024) – A two-vehicle crash occurred on westbound Interstate 70 at the 82.8-mile marker, leaving one person injured Thursday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 1:31 p.m. on December 26. A 2011 Kia Soul, driven by a 28-year-old male from Oak Grove, MO, slowed for traffic when it was rear-ended by a 2020 Ford Edge, driven by a 71-year-old female from Alton, IL. The impact caused both vehicles to veer off the roadway—Vehicle 1 to the left and Vehicle 2 to the right. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene by Don’s Towing Service. A 27-year-old female occupant of the Kia Soul sustained minor injuries. She was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash and was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment. The accident is currently being investigated.
