According to the crash report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2011 Ford Fusion was traveling westbound on I-70 when it rear-ended a 2012 Ford Fusion, which was traveling in the same direction.

The driver of the striking vehicle, Jason Vaughn, 50, of Basehor, Kansas, was not injured in the crash. The driver of the second Ford Fusion, Mark Stoneberger, 68, of Kansas City, Kansas, was injured and transported to KU Medical Center for further care. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the crash.
