Kansas City, Missouri (May 30, 2026) – A Kansas City pedestrian accident left one person with critical injuries Friday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision caused one of the vehicles to strike a pedestrian near East 31st Street and Wabash Avenue.
According to the Kansas City Police Department, officers responded to the scene shortly before 4:30 p.m. on May 29 after receiving reports of a serious injury crash involving two vehicles and a pedestrian.
Investigators reported that a red Acura TL was traveling westbound on East 31st Street when a black Mercedes GT53 attempted to enter the roadway from a driveway. Police indicated that the Mercedes failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with the Acura. The impact caused the Mercedes to rotate and strike a pedestrian who was crossing Wabash Avenue at the time.
Authorities stated that both drivers escaped the crash without injuries. The pedestrian, however, suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Police later reported that the victim was in serious but stable condition.
