Kansas City, KS (July 22, 2026) – Just after midnight, a serious Kansas City car accident involving a rollover vehicle unfolded along Interstate 70, leaving one woman injured. The accident was reported at approximately 12:01 a.m. on July 21 along westbound I-70 near mile marker 415.2.
Authorities with the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the scene to investigate the collision involving two vehicles. According to preliminary findings, a 2020 Dodge Journey, driven by 35-year-old Jamisha Harris of Kansas City, Kansas, was traveling westbound in lane one of three. A 2011 Mercedes-Benz E550, operated by 32-year-old Lacey Gunn of Peeples Valley, Arizona, was traveling ahead in lane two.
Reports indicate that the Dodge struck the rear driver-side corner of the Mercedes while attempting to pass. Following the impact, the Dodge overturned and slid along the roadway on its driver’s side before eventually coming to rest upright on the right side of the highway. The force of the crash caused significant damage to both vehicles, rendering them inoperable. Tow crews from Santa Fe Tow removed both vehicles from the scene.
Jamisha Harris, who was not wearing a safety restraint at the time of the crash, sustained injuries and was transported to KU Medical Center for treatment. Lacey Gunn was reportedly wearing a seatbelt and did not suffer any apparent injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
