Kansas City, KS (March 2, 2026) – A driver losing control of their vehicle triggered a chain-reaction car accident in Kansas City involving three vehicles on Northbound I-35 on Sunday afternoon, March 1.
At approximately 4:28 p.m., a 2014 Nissan Xterra driven by Brandon Plumb was traveling in the third lane near milepost 234.3 when the vehicle lost control. The Nissan veered across all lanes of traffic, striking a 2013 BMW X1 driven by Mary Touch in the second lane before continuing into the first lane and colliding with a 2013 Ford Edge driven by Caron Dyer.
While Mr. Plumb, Ms. Touch, and her passenger, Christina Touch, reported no apparent injuries, Caron Dyer sustained injuries in the impact. She was transported to KU Medical Center for treatment.
All three vehicles sustained significant damage and were cleared from the highway by Sunflower Tow. Investigators confirmed that all occupants were using safety restraints at the time of the accident. The Kansas City Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
