Merriam, KS (December 28, 2025) – A motorcycle accident in Merriam at around 11:06 p.m. on December 26 sent one person to the hospital.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, two motorcycles and one passenger vehicle collided on the northbound Interstate 35 near mile marker 226.8, underneath 75th Street. Further investigations show that the vehicles were headed north in adjacent lanes when the first motorcycle, a 2011 Kawasaki, collided with a 2013 Nissan Altima traveling in the same lane. The impact sent the motorcycle into another Kawasaki motorcycle traveling in the neighboring lane.
The rider of the first motorcycle, 21-year-old Daniel Lee from Liberty, Missouri, was injured and transported to Overland Park Medical Center. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No other injuries were reported at the scene. Both motorcycles were removed by Overland Tow and transported to a nearby tow lot.
