Liberty, MO (September 1, 2024) – A woman lost her life late Saturday, August 30, after being hit by a pickup truck on Missouri Route 291 in Liberty.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 11:12 p.m. north of Middlebrook Drive. A southbound 2006 Ford F-250 struck the pedestrian after another vehicle swerved nearby, causing the driver to suddenly notice her presence on the roadway.
The pedestrian, a 48-year-old woman, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities at 11:19 p.m. Her name has not yet been released pending notification of the family.
The driver of the pickup, a 22-year-old man, was not hurt in the crash.
Investigators are continuing to review the events leading up to the fatal collision.
