Liberty, MO (December 6, 2024) – One person was transported to a local hospital with injuries following a car crash in Liberty. Emergency crews in Clay County responded to the scene of the accident at around 2:55 p.m. on December 5.
According to official reports, a collision involving a 2024 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2007 Ford Focus took place on the northbound side of Interstate 35, the Monarch Highway. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway just south of US Highway 69. Both vehicles had to be towed away from the scene of the accident due to the extent of damage. One of the drivers involved in the accident, identified as a 44-year-old man from Lathrop, Missouri, was injured. The victim was transported to Liberty Hospital for emergency medical care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
