Lexington, MO (December 8, 2024) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that a 61-year-old man from Lexington, Missouri, lost his life as a result of a fatal accident that occurred in Lafayette County on Friday afternoon, December 6.
At around 3:20 p.m., a collision involving a 1992 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck and a 2016 Ford F1 50 pickup truck took place on US Highway 24. The impact of the crash caused one of the vehicles to go off the roadway near Plainview Lane and come to rest in a ditch.
A 61-year-old man was immediately pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of his injuries. Two teenage males, age 13, were both moderately injured. The victims were transported to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, Missouri, for emergency medical care. One additional victim, a 70-year-old man, was severely injured. He was transported by LifeFlight air ambulance to Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
