Leawood, KS (November 20, 2025) – A pedestrian suffered injuries on Wednesday afternoon, November 19, after a vehicle drove onto the sidewalk near West 133rd Street and High Drive in Leawood. Officers with the Leawood Police Department responded after receiving reports of a pedestrian being struck along the busy roadway.
According to police reports, the driver accidentally drove off the roadway and onto the sidewalk, where the pedestrian was walking. The vehicle struck the pedestrian before stopping at the scene. Emergency crews treated the victim and transported them to a nearby hospital. Officials have not yet released information about the extent of the pedestrian’s injuries.
Police spoke with the driver, who showed no signs of impairment. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers as they gathered information. Authorities have not confirmed what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, and no citations or charges have been announced.
