Kansas City, MO (December 9, 2025) – A hit-and-run crash in northeastern Kansas City left a pedestrian in critical condition on Monday, December 8. Kansas City police said emergency crews responded around 12:00 a.m. to the area of Northeast Vivion Road and North Lister Avenue after reports of a vehicle striking a person and fleeing.
Officers arrived and found a pedestrian badly hurt in the south lane of Vivion Road. The driver did not stop to help. Police have not released a description of the vehicle, and they have not said why the pedestrian was in the roadway.
Paramedics provided immediate care and rushed the pedestrian to a nearby hospital. Doctors listed the pedestrian in critical condition on Monday. The crash remains under active investigation as police work to identify the driver and confirm the events leading up to the impact.
