Kansas City, MO (March 14, 2026) – An apartment fire left a woman injured on Wednesday, March 11, in the 800 block of Park Avenue in east Kansas City. The fire was reported shortly after 10 p.m., prompting a swift response from firefighters.
Authorities confirmed that three people were rescued from the two-story residential building during the incident. One woman suffered smoke inhalation and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. Officials had not released an update on her condition as of Wednesday night.
While firefighters worked to control the flames, one firefighter briefly fell through a section of the floor during operations. The firefighter exited the area safely and reported no injuries.
Crews later evacuated all personnel from the structure to confirm that no additional occupants remained inside. Additional firefighters arrived shortly afterward and helped bring the fire fully under control.
