Kansas City, KS (April 10, 2026) – A Kansas City car accident led to injuries early Wednesday morning in Wyandotte County. The collision occurred on April 9, 2026, at approximately 6:55 a.m. along northbound K-7 near Leavenworth Road.
According to authorities, a 2008 Mercury Mariner and a 2023 Toyota Corolla were involved in the crash. Reports state that the Mercury Mariner was traveling south on K-7 before attempting to turn left toward eastbound Leavenworth Road. At the same time, the Toyota Corolla was traveling north on K-7. During the turn, the Mercury struck the Toyota, causing the Corolla to overturn into a ditch along the right side of the roadway.
The Mercury Mariner, was driven by 19-year-old My’Kell M. Flournoy-McCarter of Leavenworth, Kansas. He was transported to Providence Medical Center for treatment of suspected injuries. The Toyota Corolla was driven by 41-year-old Trista J. Dashner of Leavenworth, Kansas. She reported possible injuries, including complaints of pain, following the collision. Both drivers were wearing safety restraints at the time of the crash.
All City Tow removed both vehicles from the scene. Traffic in the area was impacted while emergency personnel worked to clear the overturned vehicle and assess those involved. The incident was investigated by K344, and additional details may become available as the investigation continues. The Kansas Highway Patrol is handling the ongoing review of the crash.
