Kansas City, MO (July 17, 2026) – A Kansas City car accident resulted in injuries Wednesday morning on a major interstate in Clay County. The crash occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m. on July 15 on I-35 at Poe Ave, involving a 2022 Ford and a 2007 Toyota.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicles were both traveling southbound when the Ford, driven by a 38-year-old man from Osawatomie, KS, overtook and struck the rear of the Toyota. The Toyota was operated by a 63-year-old man from Kansas City, MO.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and evaluated those involved. The 63-year-old driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries and was transported by Kansas City Fire personnel to North Kansas City Hospital for further treatment. The driver of the Ford was not reported to have suffered injuries.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were removed from the scene by a towing service. Traffic along I-35 experienced some disruption as crews worked to assist those involved and clear the roadway.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including speed, following distance, and roadway conditions at the time of the collision.
