Kansas City, KS (April 8, 2026) – A serious Kansas City car accident disrupted northbound traffic on Interstate 35 Tuesday afternoon, April 7, 2026, around 4:52 p.m., after three vehicles collided just 0.1 miles south of Cambridge Circle in Wyandotte County.
According to reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol, all vehicles were traveling northbound on I-35 when a 1997 Ford Club Wagon attempted to brake for traffic ahead. The Ford then moved into the number three lane and struck a 2021 Toyota Rav4, causing the Toyota to spin and hit a 2015 Ford F350. The Ford Club Wagon continued off the roadway and impacted a barrier wall.
The Ford Club Wagon was driven by 41-year-old Jesus Ignacio Ugalde Hernandez of Kansas City, Kansas. He was transported to Advent Health with suspected serious injuries. The Toyota Rav4 was operated by 43-year-old Emily Diane Rittman of Kansas City, Kansas, who also sustained suspected serious injuries. The Ford F350 was driven by 62-year-old Christopher Dvorsky of Olathe, Kansas, and he was reported to have no apparent injuries.
Both the Ford Club Wagon and the Toyota Rav4 were removed from the scene by All City Tow. Authorities continue to investigate the events leading up to the crash.
