Johnson, MO – Motorcyclist Killed in US-50 Crash Near NW 1421 Rd

Johnson, MO (April 26, 2025) – A tragic collision on the evening of April 23 claimed the life of a 63-year-old man from Knob Noster, Missouri. The crash took place around 5:23 p.m. along westbound U.S. Highway 50 at Northwest 1421 Road in Johnson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2017 GMC Acadia driven by a 35-year-old woman from Kingsville was heading westbound when she attempted a lane change. During that maneuver, her vehicle struck a 1987 BMW K75S motorcycle traveling in the same direction. The impact caused the motorcycle to overturn, ejecting the rider.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene at 5:53 p.m. by Johnson County Coroner Clark Holdren. Authorities have confirmed that his next of kin have been notified.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene by Warrensburg Auto & Truck Towing. The GMC sustained minor damage, while the motorcycle was declared a total loss. Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper S. L. Edwards and MSGT J. M. Toal from the Major Crash Investigation Unit responded to the scene, with support from multiple troopers and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.

We extend our deepest condolences to the loved ones of the victim during this difficult time.
