Johnson Co., MO – Car Crash on US-50 Ends in Injuries

Johnson Co., MO (March 4, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on westbound US 50 at Northwest 1601 Road. left two people injured on Saturday afternoon., March 1. The collision occurred at approximately 4:23 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2006 Nissan Titan, driven by a 58-year-old woman from Centerview, Missouri, was traveling south on NW 1601 Rd. when it attempted to cross the westbound lanes of US 50. The driver then collided with a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer, which was already traveling westbound on the highway. The Chevrolet struck the driver’s side of the Nissan, causing both vehicles to skid off the road.

The driver of the Nissan, along with a 77-year-old passenger, suffered minor injuries. The passenger was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District (JCAD) to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. The driver declined medical attention at the scene.

The Chevrolet’s driver, a 62-year-old woman from Amoret, Missouri, sustained moderate injuries and was taken by JCAD to Research Medical Center. Both vehicles were totaled and had to be towed from the scene. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the crash investigation, and the reasons for this collision are still under police inquiry.
