Jackson, MO – Motorcyclist Injured After Crash on I-470 NB

Jackson, MO (April 28, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 470 at the 15.0-mile marker at approximately 5:55 p.m. on April 25. The accident involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck and led to traffic delays in the area.

According to information released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 20-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, was operating a 2015 KTM AG motorcycle northbound when he collided with the rear of a 2022 Ford F-250. The Ford, driven by a 29-year-old man from Sweet Springs, Missouri, sustained minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene. The motorcycle, however, suffered moderate damage and had to be towed by Elite Tow.

The motorcyclist was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash but still sustained moderate injuries. Emergency personnel from Lee’s Summit Fire Department transported him to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment. Authorities reported that the driver of the Ford F-250 was not hurt. Troopers L.T. Baggerly and D.T. Craig assisted with the crash investigation. The cause of the accident remains under review by local officials.
