Kansas City, KS (June 25, 2026) – A Kansas City car accident left two drivers injured on Wednesday afternoon after a collision involving a commercial truck and a tow vehicle along K32.
According to crash investigators, the accident took place at approximately 3:23 p.m. on June 24 along K32 eastbound about 0.4 miles east of South 78th Street in Wyandotte County. The crash involved a 2022 Kenworth truck and a 2020 Ford F-550 tow truck.
Reports indicate that the Kenworth, driven by 63-year-old Frederick J. Hollis of Independence, Missouri, was traveling in the number two lane when it turned into the path of the Ford tow truck. The Ford, operated by 43-year-old Taurean T. Davis-Horton of Kansas City, Missouri, was traveling in the number one lane at the time. The turn caused the Kenworth to strike the Ford, leading to a serious collision.
Both drivers suffered injuries in the crash. Hollis was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center, while Davis-Horton was taken to Providence Medical Center for further treatment. Authorities confirmed both men were wearing safety restraints when the accident occurred.
At the time of the crash, the Kenworth was pulling a trailer, and the Ford F-550 tow truck was hauling a Chevrolet Cruze. Both vehicles sustained damage and were removed from the scene by local towing companies. The incident remains under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
