Hoyt, KS (March 8, 2026) – A serious early morning crash in southern Jackson County left one driver hospitalized after two vehicles collided near a rural intersection northwest of Hoyt. The Hoyt car accident occurred around 6:55 a.m. on March 6 at the intersection of 134th Road and N Road.
Authorities say the collision involved two vehicles traveling through the intersection. According to officials, a vehicle traveling northbound on N Road allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign before entering the intersection. The northbound vehicle then collided with another vehicle that was traveling west along 134th Road.
Emergency crews responded to the scene after the crash was reported. Deputies from the Kansas Highway Patrol assisted in the response and investigation into the collision.
Officials stated that the male driver of the northbound vehicle sustained serious injuries in the crash. Paramedics transported the man by ambulance to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities described the injuries as potentially life-threatening at the time of transport.
The second vehicle involved in the crash was traveling westbound on 134th Rd and carried three occupants. Officials reported that the male driver of that vehicle and two children who were passengers were not injured in the collision.
The crash occurred about five miles northwest of the city of Hoyt in Jackson County. Investigators are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine exactly how the collision occurred. Law enforcement officials have not released the names of the individuals involved.
