Cass County, MO (May 10, 2026) – A fatal Kingsville motorcycle accident claimed the life of a 59-year-old woman and seriously injured a 69-year-old man Saturday evening in Cass County.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. on May 9 along Route YY west of Knight Road. Troopers stated that a 2002 Yamaha XV1600 Road Star motorcycle was traveling westbound when it traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Authorities reported that both the 69-year-old male driver and his 59-year-old female passenger, both from Belton, Missouri, were ejected during the crash. Neither occupant was reportedly wearing a safety device at the time of the collision.
The female passenger suffered fatal injuries and was transported by the South Metro Fire Protection District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, where she was later pronounced deceased at 8:16 p.m. by Dr. J. Chipko. The male driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by the West Peculiar Fire Protection District to Research Medical Center for treatment.
The motorcycle sustained extensive damage and was removed from the scene by J’s Southland Tow. Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Major Crash Investigation Unit assisted with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
