Kansas City, MO (June 16, 2026) – A fatal car accident in Kansas City along Interstate 29 claimed the life of one man and left several children injured Saturday morning.

According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. on June 14 when a 2004 Ford Expedition was traveling southbound on Interstate 29 carrying two adults and nine children ages 16 and younger.

Investigators reported that the rear driver’s side tire suffered a blowout, causing the vehicle to become unstable. The 34-year-old male driver from St. Joseph lost control of the SUV before it traveled off the roadway and overturned multiple times. The Ford Expedition eventually came to rest on its roof.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities stated that a 36-year-old woman and several children suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious. Three teenage girls, ages 16, 14, and 13, reportedly sustained serious injuries.
