Clay Co., MO – Three-Vehicle Crash on I-35 Leaves One Injured

Clay Co., MO (February 11, 2025) – A three-vehicle collision on Interstate 35 northbound near mile marker 17 resulted in injuries and significant vehicle damage on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred at approximately 4:21 p.m., prompting emergency crews to respond to the scene.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, traffic congestion had brought two vehicles—a 2011 Honda Accord and a 2021 Ford F-150—to a complete stop in the right lane. A 2016 GMC Sierra, driven by a 60-year-old man from Lathrop, Missouri, was unable to stop in time and crashed into the rear of the Honda. The impact pushed the Honda into the back of the Ford, leading to a chain-reaction collision.

The 24-year-old driver of the Ford F-150, also from Lathrop, sustained minor injuries. He was transported to Liberty Hospital by a private vehicle for medical care. The driver of the Honda, a 63-year-old man from Excelsior Springs, and the GMC Sierra driver did not report any injuries at the scene.

All three vehicles sustained damage, with the Honda Accord being totaled. Tow trucks from Parsons Tow, GT Tow, and Integrity responded to remove the damaged vehicles from the highway. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.
