Clay County, MO (January 28, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident with reported injuries occurred on Monday, January 26, along northbound Interstate 435 south of Missouri Route 210 in Clay County. The crash happened at approximately 9:20 a.m., according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Authorities said both vehicles traveled off the left side of the roadway before striking a concrete barrier. The accident involved a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe and a 2022 Ford F-150. Officials reported moderate damage to the Ford truck and extensive damage to the Hyundai SUV. Both vehicles required towing from the scene.

The crash involved two adult drivers and two passengers. A 63-year-old woman drove the Hyundai Santa Fe, while a 27-year-old man drove the Ford F-150. Investigators noted that both drivers used safety devices at the time of the accident.

A juvenile female passenger in the Ford suffered minor injuries. Emergency responders transported her for medical care. The driver of the Hyundai also reported minor injuries, and responders transported her to a hospital for evaluation. Officials did not release further information about the extent of their injuries.

Investigators explained that after both vehicles hit the barrier, the front passenger side of the Hyundai struck the driver’s side of the Ford. Emergency units assisted those involved, and officials worked to clear the scene and document the roadway conditions.
