The crash took place around 3:55 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 24 and 166th Road in Leavenworth County. A 17-year-old boy driving a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on 166th Road reportedly failed to yield while entering the intersection. The 42-year-old man driving the Ford was wearing a seatbelt but still suffered serious injuries and was also taken to the hospital for care. The Kansas Highway Patrol is continuing to look into the crash and any contributing factors.
