Boone Co., MO – Two Drivers Killed in Head-On Collision on US-63

Boone Co., MO (January 24, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision claimed the lives of two men Thursday afternoon in Boone County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the deadly crash occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. on January 23. Reports indicate that a 2022 BMW 540i, driven by a 55-year-old man from Moberly, was traveling northbound on US-63, north of Pinnacles Road, when it crossed the median for unknown reasons. The BMW entered the southbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a 2006 Ford Focus driven by a 32-year-old man from Centralia.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene to provide aid. The Centralia driver was pronounced dead at the crash site by Captain M. Stone at 4:40 p.m. His remains were transported to Parker Millard Funeral Home. The driver of the BMW was rushed to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m. by Dr. Kowalczyk.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were removed by Slate Towing. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision.
