Ridgeway Township, KS (May 17, 2026) – A Ridgeway Township car accident involving four vehicles left one adult and two children injured Friday afternoon in Osage County. The crash was reported on May 15 at the intersection of US-56 Highway and South Berryton Road.
Deputies with the Osage County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Ridgeway Township car accident along with multiple emergency agencies. US-56 Highway between California Road and Croco Road was shut down in both directions for approximately an hour and a half while crews worked at the scene.
Officials stated that four vehicles were involved in the Ridgeway Township car accident, with three sustaining major damage. An adult and two children were transported to a Topeka-area hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Three additional individuals involved declined medical treatment at the scene.
Osage County Fire District 1 from Carbondale, Fire District 4 from Overbrook, Osage County EMS, the Kansas Highway Patrol, and the Kansas Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control and emergency response. The Osage County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
