Wyandotte County, KS (March 1, 2026) – A two-vehicle car accident in Wyandotte County disrupted southbound traffic on Interstate 635 at 27th Street on Saturday evening, February 28.
According to reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol, at approximately 8:06 p.m., a 2015 Jeep Cherokee driven by Dayanna Nicole Todd and a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Valerie Resendez were both traveling southbound. According to the crash narrative, the Jeep, which was in the second lane, struck the front right corner of the Subaru, which was traveling in the first lane.
While Ms. Todd reported no apparent injuries, Valerie Resendez was transported to Advent Health Shawnee Mission after reporting a complaint of pain.
Both drivers were reportedly wearing their safety restraints at the time of the collision. Neither vehicle required a tow from the scene, and officials have confirmed this was not a hit-and-run incident. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
