Platte Co., MO – Two Injured in Head-On Crash on I-29

Platte Co., MO (February 19, 2025) – A head-on collision on Interstate 29 left two people injured on Monday night. The crash happened at mile marker 26.8 at around 7:46 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an 80-year-old man from Saint Joseph was driving a 2005 Buick LeSabre northbound when he veered off the left side of the roadway. After leaving the road, the vehicle re-entered traffic but was moving southbound in the northbound lanes. As a result, the Buick collided head-on with a 2019 Peterbilt tractor-trailer.

The driver of the Buick and his 72-year-old female passenger, also from Saint Joseph, both sustained minor injuries. Emergency medical personnel transported them to Mosaic Hospital for treatment. The truck driver, a 44-year-old man from Topeka, was not injured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and authorities remained on-site to investigate. The crash is currently under review.

Our thoughts are with those injured, and we hope for their full recovery.
