Pedestrian Accidents in Missouri

Knob Noster, MO – 19-Year-Old Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck by Car on Route DMissouri experiences a significant number of pedestrian-involved accidents every year. Pedestrians are particularly vulnerable in traffic incidents, often suffering serious or fatal injuries due to the lack of protection. These accidents frequently occur in low-light conditions or in areas without designated crosswalks.

Here are some common causes and considerations in pedestrian accidents:

  1. Low Visibility – Accidents involving pedestrians are more likely to happen during early morning or evening hours when visibility is reduced. Poor lighting can make it difficult for drivers to see individuals walking on or near the road.
  2. Driver Inattention – Distracted driving, including texting or using other electronic devices, is a leading factor in pedestrian accidents. Even a brief distraction can have severe consequences.
  3. Speeding Vehicles – Higher vehicle speeds increase the likelihood of crashes and the severity of injuries sustained by pedestrians. Drivers should reduce their speed in areas with limited visibility or where pedestrians are present.

Pedestrians injured in accidents caused by negligence may be entitled to seek compensation for their injuries.
